Portrait Lady

The Iron Lady - Trailer 2 (Apple)
THE IRON LADY is a surprising and intimate portrait of Margaret Thatcher
(Meryl Streep), the first and only female Prime Minister of The United
Kingdom. One of the 20th century's most famous and influential women, Thatcher
came from nowhere to smash through barriers of gender and class to be heard in
a male dominated world.
Why does my camera have "portrait man" and "portrait lady"?
I have a Sanyo Vpc-t850. It has different shooting modes like: night, sports, landscape, candle-light etc.
Some I don't understand what their use is:
There are two different ones called portrait man and portrait lady...I understand "regular" portrait mode allows you to focus on your subject and slightly blur the back ground but what does gender have to do with it??
Also there is "pet mode" does anyone know the what the benefits of these settings are?
The exact reason Im asking is because the owners manual doesn't say what they mean. Hence, i posted this question. If you dont know why waste your time answering?
This is exactly why owners manuals come in real handy. If you don't have one, try to download one online.
Edit, then read under "filters"
